Allison Funeral Home

Allison Funeral Home in Port Hope has a storied past, beginning as Walker’s Funeral Home on July 2, 1917. Initially run by Bud Jex and Art Smith at 26 Ontario Street, it later moved to its current location in the late 1950s. In 1965, local Don Allison purchased and renamed it. He managed it until 1988, passing leadership to his sons, Scott and Kevin Allison, both licensed funeral directors since 1978. They started managing the home in 1988, continuing the family’s legacy of community involvement. Kevin, active in local churches and schools with his family, now sees his daughter Melissa Allison taking over. Allison Funeral Home remains a pillar of tradition and service in Port Hope.
